Re: Design 10 Nightgown
Wanted to make some winter nightgowns for Izzy but was nervous about this one because my machine doesn't handle elastic thread in the bobbin. I ended up making a tight zig-zag stitch over the thread and then pulling tight. Worked great and she can't feel the thread against her skin. Both Izzy and I feel this pattern runs big. I made the 110 and when trying it on she said, "This is big!" It goes nearly to her ankles and the it's a good thing the arms have elastic or they'd cover her hands. Generally 110 is a good fit for her. I'm not fussed though since it's a nightgown and she'll hopefully get two seasons out of it this way. I'll be making this again and sticking to the 110. I was also nervous about the pieced neckline but it wasn't difficult. I did finish the sleeve hem on the flat and next time I'll do the neckline that way as well for ease.
SAHM to D 4-01 and Izzy 2-06.
