A simple skirt with elastic waist that packs plenty of twirl power and makes the most of quilting cotton yardage. Very basic skills needed, well suited for beginners.

I think I will need about a size 10. How can I adapt this to fit? It probably wouldn't take much but I don't know exactly how snugly this fits.

excellent. Took about 2 hrs all included. And very cute. Do need a good quality knit, my one doesn't take the weight of my (very light) cotton very well. Probably because the knit is very bad quality

Took me longer since I don't have a serger, but well worth the time! Love it. Thanks!

I made this skirt today for my 6 year old. It turned out great!! It only took 2 hours, even with altering. My daughter is a tiny 6 year old, her waist is only 18 inches. I had to take the elastic back out and cut off 6 inches from the yoke strip to be able to stretch the elastic enough to cover all the fabric. That being said the next strip was gathered so much that the skirt looks like a twirly skirt on her. lol She loves it!! I also took a plain white t-shirt and appliqued her initial on it in the same fabric I used for the bottom strip on the skirt. I will make more of these skirts very nice thanks so much for the tutorial!!!
