Pattern Name/Number
Pocketful of Butterlfies
Pattern Description
This is a free tutorial with printable patterns in sizes 3T and 5
Which view and size did you make?
Size 5
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes- but I didn't follow the instructions for the binding.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the fit as well as the way it looks on my daughter. It is comfortable and fun.
I didn't like the instructions for cutting and putting on the binding.
Fabric used
cotton interlock from JoAnns
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made or would recommend
I did a 2" strip and ran it through my bias tape folder first instead of the 2.5" and method used in the tutorial. Then I put it on like any bias tape, but stretching a bit as I sewed to keep the stretch in the fabric.
5" instead of 3" each after gathering the top of the front and back
It is also a pretty short dress so I would add some length if you don't like short dresses. I'm just making capri leggings to match.
Would you sew this pattern again?
Yes
Would you recommend this pattern to others?
Yes
