Trying to maintain the pleats on the ears is a PITA with 2 layers of thick foofy fleecy fabric. However, the hat turns out super cute.

Cute pattern though agree with pp keeping the pleats in the ears is a pain. I ended up just gathering them, and that worked fine IMO. I made the ears much longer since the hat was used as part of a doggie Halloween costume.
