Kinda tricky to do the little side detail on the leg. It works best if you put the small placket piece on bottom and sort of wrap the large piece around it when sewing.

Do you add a seam allowance to the little insert piece? I did and am trying to sew these up but if I gather, then the insert piece is too big for the "hole". If I don't gather the main leg part, the insert fits in perfectly. I'm thinking I should cut the seam allowance off though it doesn't say in the directions to omit it.

I recall using a seam allowance. Could it be an issue with adding fabric for the hem.
