I think this was the first Otto pattern I ever made. I had made pillows & curtains, but not clothes. I thought this one was super easy. Sewing the drawstring out of fabric, could easily be substituted with a ribbon. I think I also saw a few who made it with covered elastic.

Great pattern that is easy to sew up. Love it! Because my DD still naps at times I do this w/ covered elastic and bias strips up the side - I wasn't comfortable with her sleeping in it as drafted.
modified to have a top bodice panel (I was using up scraps but realized I really like this look)

Easy to make, and I'll have to try the above ideas w/ ribbon, or the genius way Jennie did it!
