I made one the other night and it was my first attempt at knits and an Ottobre pattern. I made it with some cheap rib knit and it turned out pretty well except for the neckline. I've never done a ribbed binding before and this knit has pretty much no recovery so it was all streched out and saggy. My DD wears a size 14 t-shirt and I made the 164. The fit was nice. Not fitted or too slim, but that's how she prefers it.
Here are pictures of my second and third attempts at this top. The pattern is great, I'm just new to knits. I'm finally comfortable with the neckline construction and will be making many more of these in the future.

When Otto patterns say slim fit, they mean it. A very nice basic top for layering, easy to sew up in bunches.

Great Basic Tee! I made a size 140 with added length to the hems/body for my 13 year old. The fabric is a rib knit.

Added a bit of detail along the hem. Fit is nice, pattern straight forward.
